This year’s Mobilization is unlike any other conference Sojourners has held. With the environment on our mind, Sojourners is making adjustments and changes to the way we have done things in the past. Our desire is to be good stewards of this planet and every small change that we make as an organization and individuals can make a difference!

In a continued effort to reduce our printed resources, registration, event confirmation and updates will be handled exclusively online. |
 |
The Mobilization is BYOB! Of course, that’s Bring Your Own Bag. Have a bag from a past Pentecost or Sojourners conference? Bring it along and we’ll see how many past years are represented! Now is the time to dust off those old bags. |
 |
And BYOWB – Please bring your own water bottle. The Convention Center relies heavily on disposable products. Help us lower our waste by bringing your own, refillable bottle. |

Traveling does not only take a toll on our budget but also on the environment. If possible, we encourage you to take alternate forms of transportation instead of flying.
- Find a friend to share the ride through Sojourners' Ride-Share program with GoLoco.
- Have a big group coming? What about renting a van or bus and turning it into the Sojo-or-Bust-Mobile? Make the trip to Washington, D.C., just as much an experience as the Mobilization will be.
Testimonial:
We rented a Lakefront Lines 50 (or so) passenger bus for the Christian Peace Witness in Spring 2007. We dubbed it the "Ohio Peace Bus" and even put a banner on the side (that didn't last unfortunately). We asked people to "buy" their peace seat (approximately $40) to pay for the cost of the bus rental, and we also solicited donations from those who wanted to "sponsor" a student to attend who couldn't otherwise afford the ride. It was a good experience and I would recommend the bus rental. --Virginia Lohmann Bauman, Sojourners Ohio Field Organizer

Sojourners is making an effort to use green printers that use soy ink, recycled paper, and work to reduce pollution. |

Most of our speakers are from the local DC metro area in order to keep down on travel emissions. |

All unused food will be donated to local area shelters. |
