Emerging Leaders Program

Sponsored by Wesley Theological Seminary

At Sojourners, we recognize that developing young leaders is the key to lasting change in our world. That's why during The Mobilization, we've included The Emerging Leaders Program, which seeks to train and empower young, faith-inspired leaders to direct the movement to overcome poverty.
Are you an emerging leader? An emerging leader is someone with:

  • A passion for faith and social justice
  • A desire to learn and grow
  • A commitment to seeing change in their communities and beyond
  • An interest in becoming the next leaders of the movement
  • A call to service or ministry either inside or outside the church

If you are an emerging leader, 18-35 years old or with fewer than three years experience in the fields of activism, social justice, and ministry, then this program is for you. During The Mobilization, members of The Emerging Leaders Program can attend:

  • Don MillerCafé Koinonia
A Monday night Coffeehouse featuring Don Miller - author of New York Times bestseller Blue Like Jazz. Don is also the founder of The Mentoring Project, a foundation that partners with churches to mentor young men growing up without fathers.
  • Voice & Vocation: Discerning & Living Your Call
A Post-Mobilization Training session featuring accomplished and energetic emerging leaders who will assist you with vocational discernment and train you to be an effective advocate and faithful leader in your community.
  • Networking sessions
Find a like-minded friend from another part of the country! Networking opportunities will be available to strengthen the community of emerging leaders across the country.

Think you can't afford to attend The Mobilization? Think again! Scholarships are available for low-income community leaders. Click here for more information about Sojourners' Community Leaders Scholarship Program.
