Can I register for the Mobilization to End Poverty (M2EP) through the mail?

If you wish to register via mail, you may fill out your information on our online registration system and send a check payable to "Sojourners” to:

How will I know my registration went through?

Once you have registered for the conference online, you will receive an e-mail confirmation.

Are scholarships available?

If you need help with the costs of attending the Mobilization, there are subsidized prices for students and limited scholarships available through our Community Leaders Program .

Can I get a group rate?

Group rates are available if you have at least ten people in a group. For more information, visit our Group Registration page.

How and when do I register for workshops?

When you register for the Mobilization online you will be asked to select the workshop you prefer to attend. Check the Web site for updates on workshop descriptions and speakers!

If you have paid and registered, but are unable to attend M2EP, consult our Refund Policy.

Where is the conference located?

The conference will take place at multiple locations throughout Washington, D.C. - including Shiloh Baptist Church, the Washington Convention Center, and the Capitol.

What time does the conference begin?

The first worship service begins at Shiloh Baptist Church at 7:00 p.m. on April 26, 2009. The opening plenary at the Washington Convention Center starts at 9:00 a.m. on April 27, 2009.

Where can I stay when I'm in Washington, D.C.? Do you have any hotel discounts available?

We have blocks of hotel rooms at discounted rates at nearby hotels. There are also some alternative, cheaper housing options, so please visit our Housing page for more information.

What should I bring with me?

Here is a partial list of some things we recommend you bring along:

  • Notepad and pens
  • BYOB - Bring your own bag for carrying notes, handouts, purchases, etc. (and a bag or two to give away to someone else)
  • Dollar bills for tips (e.g. the shuttle service)
  • Camera
  • Business cards
  • Water bottle
  • Bible

What about my laptop?

Many conference participants love to bring their laptops with them for note taking, reading e-mail, and so on. You may certainly do so. Wireless access is not available for free within the convention center. There is free wireless access in many hotels and coffee shops nearby.

How do you suggest I dress?

We recommend dressing in comfortable clothes during the conference. However, you will want to dress in nice business attire for the Capitol Hill Capitol Hill Day.

What is the weather like in Washington?

April is one of the nicest months of the year in Washington, D.C. The cherry blossoms are in bloom. The temperature tends to be mild, with average daytime temperatures in the 60s and 70s. There are occasional rain showers during April, so be sure to bring an umbrella.
