Words, Not War Statement

In September 2006, Sojourners and Faithful Security issued the “Words, Not War” statement signed by over one hundred religious leaders. The statement called for direct talks with Iran and condemned military action as a response to the Iranian nuclear standoff. In the months that followed, thousands of religious Americans signed onto the statement. The statement was hand-delivered to Iranian political leaders and members of the U.S. Congress.
