Sojourners has an immediate opening for a strong writer with a background in effective social media platform strategy management and the ability to maximize metrics, analytics, and other factors across multiple channels to increase traffic. We seek candidates with hands-on knowledge of HTML and/or open source web applications (CMS).
The Digital and Social Media Associate will work hand-in-hand with the Web Editor/Director of New Media as part of a broad team of digital, marketing, communications, and editorial senior staff members.
Responsibilities include:
Work directly with the Web Editor/Director of New Media.
Manage the day-to-day social media message integration across multiple channels and platforms.
Email list maintenance and growth.
Assist with technical analysis and troubleshooting processes and procedures working with Drupal, an open source CMS.
Identify meaningful content within the organization and community to highlight digital channels and traditional platforms.
Develop multimedia content to support message content for use on the organization’s social media pages.
Coordinate approved messaging and content for use across multiple organizational communications channels.
Work closely with the larger Marketing and Communications teams to establish protocol for social media efforts.
Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Detail-oriented self starter with excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills; video and photo editing skills a plus.
Three to five years experience in communications, public relations, and/or marketing with a minimum of two years experience in social media.
Three years experience in content management systems; prior knowledge of Drupal required.

Four-year degree with formal writing and social media experience required.
Ability to research a variety of topics and communicate complex technical information in simple, clear, and accurate language.
Experience with AP style.
The ability to work with diplomacy across organizational departments.

An indefatigable interest in helping the organization connect with its social following and key influencers, stakeholders, and diverse audience.
