Tim King
Director of Communications/ Special Assistant to the CEO
Tim was born and raised in the Granite State, New Hampshire. He is proud to hail from the only state in the country that has written into it's constitution the "right to revolution." Yankee style trouble making was in his blood and he still likes to brag about the time his 10th grade teacher took points off of his grade in Bible Class for asking too many questions.
He graduated from North Park University in Chicago and earned degrees in both Theology and Philosophy. After graduation he worked for the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF) as an organizer on the South Side of Chicago. Tim ran campaigns around food access, school funding reform, ex-offender issues and youth homelessness as well as developed and implemented organizing curriculums for young people from high school to graduate level classes.
After a brief stint as a campaign consultant, Tim came on staff with Sojourners in September of 2008. As Special Assistant to the CEO, Tim gets to run across the country with Jim Wallis gaining invaluable experience and a deep theological education along the way. In exchange, he let's Jim know when his jacket needs dry cleaning.
